Context
SaaSify is a white-label UI framework for SaaS businesses. I designed it independently over two months as a production-ready kit that any team can rebrand and deploy, whatever their business model.
The problem
Most SaaS teams rebuild the same screens again and again, and every rebuild drifts a little further from the brand. The goal was a kit that keeps every product visually consistent and hands off to developers with as little back-and-forth as possible.
Approach
- 01
Built the foundations with Figma variables and design tokens, so one change updates every theme
- 02
Designed 200+ responsive components for marketing pages and product dashboards
- 03
Made rebranding a token swap instead of a redesign
- 04
Applied WCAG 2.1 standards to colour, contrast, focus states and type across the system
- 05
Set up a design-to-code documentation pipeline so developers could build straight from the specs
Outcome
- →200+ responsive components in one reusable library
- →WCAG 2.1 accessibility applied across the whole system
- →Design-to-code documentation pipeline in place for faster builds
- →35% less front-end development time for teams that adopted it
Reflection
“A design system is only useful if developers trust it. The tokens and components took the most hours, but the documentation is what got teams to adopt it. Writing every component spec as if a developer would build it without needing to ask me anything kept the system honest.”
